Artist Statement

What remains when what we thought essential is taken away?

Working with porcelain, metal and organic materials, I explore fragility not as weakness but as threshold. The void is generative. The fracture is a beginning. The body is never present in my sculptures. It is always implied.

I trained as an engineer. In 2017, illness interrupted the life I had been living. Clay and mindfulness arrived as necessities, one after the other: they asked me to sit with experience rather than resolve it. I work on fragility as a threshold: in porcelain, in teaching, in questions that do not resolve.
